Come to the Rockland Congregational Church at 180 Limerock Street for a choral performance of Luigi Cherubini’s Requiem in C minor by Midcoast based Down East Singers accompanied by chamber orchestra and directed by Anthony Antolini. This Requiem a huge success when first performed and was admired by composers such as Berlioz and Beethoven who said, “If I were to write a Requiem, this would be my model.” This choral and orchestral work with no soloists has been called ethereal, highly dramatic and ultimately transcendent
